Mobile Device Permissions
Access to the following mobile device features may be requested:
Location - uses GPS coordinates and/or network-based location information to display available assets or services in your area.
Phone - reads the phone’s status and identity and allows one to directly call phone numbers displayed on various functions.
Storage - reads or writes content downloaded from the United Vision Logistics web application services.
Cell and Wi-Fi Network Services - remotely connects to the United Vision Logistics web application services using your cellular service provider or Wi-Fi Access Point.
Collection and use of your Personal Information
"Personal Information" shall mean any information that can be used to identify an individual, and may include, but not limited to, name, email address, postal or other physical address, title, occupation, and other information required to provide a service, deliver a product, or carry out a transaction you have requested.
User-Provided Information: Some features on the United Vision Logistics Vision 2020 mobile app are available to users only upon registration, approval, and determination of their user role and the information to which you have access. United Vision Logistics’ employees, contractors, commission and broker agents are automatically registered and granted access based on job responsibility (their personal identifiable information was collected and retained in IT user account related systems). Otherwise, non-employees (e.g. Customer, Owner Operator/Driver, Fleet Owner, Carrier; this list also known as User Type) complete a registration request and provide name, email address, company name, job title, phone number, mailing address, a suggested user ID, user type (listed previously), password, Payee ID, and Driver Number as appropriate. This personal identifiable information is retained in United Vision Logistics’ web portal and application services.
Automatically Collected Information: When you use the Vision 2020 mobile app and its web application services, we record usage information such as user ID, mobile device type and ID, user type, the application function and its parameters (e.g. search/filter criteria). Anonymous network information may be transmitted back to us to determine how users are interacting with our products, assist us with improving our products, and provide alerts regarding available software updates/upgrades. In some instances, United Vision Logistics may collect non-personal (aggregate or demographic) data through cookies/tokens and web application services logs. That information is used to improve the usability, performance, and effectiveness of the Vision 2020 mobile app and web application services.
Cookies and Token Information: We may transfer and store small files on the mobile device that contain information about your user account, current and prior interactive sessions, and user preferences/filters. These help avoid having to re-enter that information each time the mobile app is used. A cookie/token cannot read personal data off your mobile device or read cookie/token files created by other mobile apps.
Accessing and updating your Personal Information
To ensure that your Personal Information is accurate and up to date, please notify us of any changes. United Vision Logistics employees may contact HR (337-291-6700) or IT Help Desk (337-291-6869 or https://helpdesk.uvlogistics.com). Non-employees (as previously described) may update their profile by going to https://www.uvlogistics.com, clicking “SIGN IN” and then "My Account" link accessed in the global navigation menu in the top right corner of every page.
Sharing your Personal Information
Third-Party Access to Your Personal Information
The Vision 2020 mobile app and the web application services use Google Maps, which is outside our control and not covered by this policy. We cannot extend the warranties under this declaration on data protection to Google Maps. Nor does our use of Google Maps mean that we adopt their contents as our own. We encourage you to review Google’s privacy policies at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Otherwise, your information may be shared with third parties only as specified in the prior section “Sharing Your Personal Information”.
Security of Your Personal Information
For our users' security, United Vision Logistics utilizes a combination of industry-standard security technologies, procedures, and organizational measures to help protect their Personal Information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Personal Information data is stored in the United Vision Logistics web application services portal, which uses industry standard, government grade encryption technologies including advanced algorithms such as DES, MD5 and RSA. Entry into our datacenter is restricted by multiple levels of access control, including biometric palm scanners, and key card readers that limit movement within the facility to authorized areas. We authorize access to Personal Information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we recommend you take every precaution in protecting your Personal Information when you are on the Internet.
United Vision Logistics will not retain your Personal Information longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws or regulations. To revoke consent for us to retain your information, or to request deletion of your data, discontinue use of the Vision 2020 mobile app and contact the United Vision Logistics Help Desk at 337-291-6869 or https://helpdesk.uvlogistics.com.
The Vision 2020 mobile app is neither directed to, nor do we knowingly collect personal information of, children under the age of 18. Should a parent or guardian of a child under the age of 18 discover the child has obtained a user account, please contact the United Vision Logistics Help Desk at 337-291-6869 and request we delete the account and the child’s personal information from our systems.
